Directions

Como can be reached from a number of airports which include the Milano Airports of Malpensa and Linate and the Swiss airport of Zuric. Fast and frequent train services to Como are available from each of these airports. 

Taxi journeys from Linate and Malpensa to Como are possible but ensure that you ask the taxi driver for a fare quote before leaving!

Malpensa Airport

Train

The easiest and most convenient route is via the Malpensa Airport. From here you can catch the Malpensa Express at Terminal 1 to Saronno. At Saronno you need to change and catch a connecting train to Como. Time tables for the Malpensa Express are available here. For connecting time tables from Saronno to Como check here.

Bus

Alternatively a direct bus line (SPT) C-250, runs from Malpensa Airport to Como which takes about an hour. This is available from both Terminal 1 and 2 of Malpensa Airport. Departure times are listed below:

  • Terminal 1: 9.20, 11.00, 12.20, 14.15, 16.45, 19.25

  • Terminal 2: 9.24, 11.04, 12.24, 14.19, 16.49, 19.29

You can purchase your tickets on board.

Car

If you want to drive from Malpensa Airport to Como, take the A9 and exit at Como Monte Olimpino or Como Nord.

Linate Airport

Train

Take the S.T.A.M Bus from Linate airport to Milano Centrale railway station. This journey takes approximately 30 minutes and bases depart every 30 minutes from 6.00 am. The last bus is the 23.30. Form Milano Centrale railway station you need to take a train to Como S. Giovanni. You may check for timetables here.

Car

From Linate to Como, take the A9 and exit at Como Monte Olimpino or Como Nord.

Zurich Airport

Train

From Terminal B, you need to take a train from the Swiss Federal railway Station to Zurich Central. This journey takes approximately 10 minutes. From Zurich Central, you need to take a train to Como S. Giovanni. timetables for this service may be checked here.

Car

As before, driving involves taking the A9 highway and exiting at either Como Nord or Como Sud.
